So what now?
This is only the beginning.
A test gives you a snapshot. The good part comes afterwards. If you feel like carrying on exploring what is going on inside you, the NorthPlanner Journal is designed by psychologists to keep you company for five minutes every night while you look at what you have felt today, where in your body you noticed it and what it is asking of you. It is your moment of calm and introspection.

The enneagram is a self-knowledge tool, not a diagnosis. If two types come out very close together, read them both.
The print window will open: choose “Save as PDF”. Only the types you have expanded will be included.
Frequently asked questions about the enneagram test
What people ask us most, before and after taking it.
What is the enneagram?
The enneagram is a self-knowledge model that describes nine ways of functioning, called types. Each one is defined by a deep motivation and an underlying fear, not by visible behaviour: two people can act exactly the same way for completely opposite reasons.
How long does the test take?
About 15 minutes. There are 135 statements about the way you are, and for each one you choose how true it is for you, from "Almost never" to "Very true". You can close the page and carry on later: your progress is saved in your browser.
Is it free?
Yes. The test and the full results are free. We only ask for an email so we can send you our productivity pack as a gift.
What are the nine types?
Type 1 is the Perfectionist, 2 the Helper, 3 the Achiever, 4 the Special or Sensitive one, 5 the Observer, 6 the Loyalist or Cautious one, 7 the Enthusiast, 8 the Challenger and 9 the Peacemaker. When you finish the test you get all of them explained, along with your score in each one.
What exactly does the result tell me?
Your dominant type and, within it, seven keys: what drives you, what you are afraid of, what you long for, where you act from, what your underlying emotion is, what you turn into under stress and where you grow towards when you are in balance.
You also see your percentage across all nine types, which is often as revealing as the top spot itself.
Two types came out almost equal. Which one am I?
Read them both and go with the one you recognise by its underlying motivation, not by the behaviour. Behaviour looks very similar across different types; what sits underneath almost never does. If you are still unsure, let a few days pass and read them again.
Does the enneagram have a scientific basis?
It is worth being clear about this: the enneagram is a self-knowledge tool, not a clinical diagnostic instrument or a validated psychometric test. It helps you observe yourself with more perspective and ask yourself better questions, not to label yourself or to replace working with a professional.
And after the test?
If you want to keep exploring what you discover here, the NorthPlanner Journal is designed by psychologists to keep you company for five minutes every night: what you have felt, where you noticed it and what it is asking of you.
